Principles
The principles this project is built on
These are commitments about how the project will behave, written down so they can be held against us.
In detail
Our principles
Where we describe what something costs or what a programme covers, we say where that information came from and when it was last checked. We would rather say we do not know than publish a number we cannot stand behind.
No organisation can pay to be presented more favourably by this project. There is no sponsored placement, no promoted position and no arrangement of any kind that money can buy.
People are never charged by us. Information published by this project is there to help someone make a decision, not to move them towards any particular practice.
We are not a clinic, we do not employ clinicians, and nothing this project publishes tells anyone whether a symptom is serious or what treatment they need. There is no symptom checker and no triage. In an emergency, call 911.
This website holds no personal health information, by design. Nothing on it asks about your health, your treatment or your diagnosis.
We build to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, because our readers are often using older phones, in a hurry, and reading in a second language.
Ontario healthcare is explained in ordinary words. If a sentence needs a glossary to understand, it has failed.
